Charitable gala environments must create a sense of occasion while ensuring that production decisions remain proportionate to the event’s philanthropic purpose. Organised by ITP Media Group and Sawtouna, the Abu Dhabi Dream Ball supports voluntarism, the empowerment of women and children and other meaningful causes through philanthropy and leadership.

For the 2020 event, Evolution Scenic delivered an elegant, cost-conscious scenic environment comprising a custom ballroom stage, branded media backdrops, a red-carpet arrival area and gallery displays for auction items.

The different spaces were designed to work together as one guest journey, extending from the pre-function and media areas through to the main ballroom.

The Challenge

The event required a sophisticated setting that reflected the importance of its charitable mission while remaining within defined budget constraints.

Several functions needed to be accommodated across the venue. The main ballroom required a focal point for speeches and performances, while the pre-function area needed to operate as both a guest-arrival space and the principal media zone.

In October 2022, DMG Events and ADNOC hosted the 12th edition of the ADIPEC Awards at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. Attended by more than 600 energy-sector leaders, the ceremony recognised outstanding contributions across the industry.

The Challenge

The awards environment needed to reflect the importance of the occasion while supporting a seamless experience for more than 600 guests.

The main stage required sufficient scale for the Emirates Palace setting and needed to integrate scenery, branding and programmable lighting into one cohesive design.

Nominees also needed to be recognised before guests entered the principal ceremony space. This required a dedicated pre-function environment with clear storytelling, branding and photography opportunities.

Visual consistency had to continue from the nominee showcase to the stage and individual guest tables, ensuring that every part of the awards journey felt connected.

The Solution

Evolution Scenic designed and fabricated a custom main stage measuring 42 metres across. Scenic architecture, integrated branding and programmable lighting were combined to create a dynamic setting for the awards programme.

A circular branded screen was positioned behind the lectern as a focal feature within the stage composition. Its form complemented the wider scenic design and provided a consistent background for speakers and presentations.

In the pre-function area, Evolution Scenic created a dedicated showcase presenting the award nominees. Branded photography walls were incorporated to support guest engagement, official imagery and media coverage.

On 28 August 2019, ADNOC hosted its Emirati Women’s Day celebration at Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi. Centred on the theme Create, Communicate, Collaborate, the event recognised the personal and professional contributions of Emirati women.

More than 1,000 guests attended, including members of ADNOC’s senior management. Evolution Scenic designed and delivered an immersive environment comprising a custom employee gallery, a replica ADNOC petrol station and multiple interactive activations.

The Challenge

The event needed to recognise the diverse achievements of Emirati women while creating an identity distinct from ADNOC’s traditional corporate branding.

With more than 1,000 attendees, the environment had to support a significant audience and encourage participation across several experiential areas. Interactive quizzes, workshops, social-media engagement and photography opportunities all needed to function within one cohesive layout.

The scenic treatment also needed to balance celebration, storytelling and brand recognition. It had to feel vibrant and playful while remaining appropriate for ADNOC and its senior guests.

Evolution Scenic designed and built a custom gallery presenting the personal hobbies of ADNOC employees. The installation highlighted interests and achievements beyond the workplace, giving the event’s central theme a personal and relatable expression.

A replica of an ADNOC petrol station was fabricated as the principal scenic centrepiece. The recognisable structure connected the activation to ADNOC’s identity while being reinterpreted as an engaging feature within the celebration.

Multiple experiential areas were created across the venue. These included interactive quizzes, workshop spaces, a social-media engagement wall and dedicated photography opportunities, giving attendees different ways to participate in the programme.

Playful branded details extended the visual identity throughout the environment. Floor stickers, mirror decals and customised event items, including branded ice-cream cups, reinforced the event theme and connected the larger scenic installations with smaller guest touchpoints.

On 28 August 2023, ADNOC celebrated Emirati Women’s Day at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center and Al Dhannah under the theme We Collaborate for Tomorrow.

For the fourth consecutive year, Evolution Scenic was selected to design and fabricate the event’s scenic elements. The delivery included stage backdrops, interactive installations, workshop environments, thematic food and beverage stations and sustainable scenic materials.

The scenic environment needed to communicate the We Collaborate for Tomorrow theme while supporting the professional, cultural and participatory dimensions of the event.

Milestone gala dinners require event environments that recognise the importance of the occasion while respecting the character of their venue. On 15 January 2018, the Zayed Future Energy Prize marked its tenth anniversary with a Winners Dinner at Louvre Abu Dhabi during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.

The event also formed part of the 100 Years of Zayed initiative, bringing together previous winners, beneficiaries and 2018 finalists. It celebrated a prize whose programmes had positively affected more than 307 million people worldwide.
