• ADNOC Acquisition Of ZMI – Scenic Fabrication & Maritime Event Branding, Abu Dhabi (2022)

Evolution Scenic steel photo platform and branded scenic backdrops aboard Sentinel Barge in Abu Dhabi.

Milestone corporate events often require temporary environments that feel polished and ceremonial despite being delivered within unconventional venues. To mark ADNOC Logistics & Services’ acquisition of Zakher Marine International (ZMI), Evolution Scenic delivered a bespoke scenic and branding package aboard ZMI’s Sentinel Barge at Mina Zayed in Abu Dhabi.

The event hosted 70 VIP guests and media, bringing together scenic fabrication, indoor and outdoor branding, custom backdrops, furniture and floral styling. The result was a refined setting that transformed the working maritime environment into a professional venue appropriate to the significance of the acquisition.

    The Challenge

The event needed to communicate the importance of a major corporate acquisition while taking place aboard a barge rather than within a conventional event venue.

The setting introduced clear spatial and presentation challenges. Scenic elements had to be integrated carefully into the existing maritime environment, while guest-facing areas needed to feel cohesive, comfortable and appropriate for VIPs and media.

Branding also had to work across both indoor and outdoor areas, with strong focal points required for speeches, photography and media coverage.

    The Solution

Evolution Scenic developed and installed a coordinated package of scenic, branding and hospitality elements across the barge.

A large custom photo opportunity platform was designed and fabricated as one of the event’s main visual features, creating a dedicated location for guest photography and media content.

Indoor and outdoor branding was installed throughout the venue, ensuring the event identity remained consistent across different areas of the barge.

Custom backdrops were produced for speeches and photographic moments, providing controlled visual focal points for both guests and media.

Furniture arrangements and floral displays were also introduced to soften the industrial character of the maritime setting and create a more refined hospitality environment.

By coordinating scenic fabrication, branding and styling as one package, Evolution Scenic transformed the barge into a polished event venue while preserving the distinctive character of the location.

  • Mubadala Sail GP – Temporary Venue & Scenic Event Build, Abu Dhabi (2024)

Evolution Scenic branded temporary venue fabricated for Mubadala SailGP at Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi.

Waterfront sporting events require temporary environments that can support hospitality, presentations, guest movement and family engagement while responding to the character of the event itself. For Mubadala Sail GP at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, Evolution Scenic designed and built a temporary venue positioned next to the docks, creating a functional and visually cohesive setting aligned with the energy of high-performance sailing.

The scope included a 3-metre by 15-metre curved stage, twin scenic backdrops, an LED screen, ambient lighting, custom wall treatments, guest transport support and interactive family features. Together, these elements created a flexible event environment that combined presentation, hospitality and visitor engagement within a temporary waterfront setting.

    The Challenge

The project required a complete temporary venue to be delivered next to the docks while supporting several different functions within one coordinated environment.

The main presentation area needed a substantial scenic stage with digital content and lighting, while the surrounding venue required custom wall finishes capable of presenting a consistent appearance internally and externally.

Guest movement also needed to be considered, particularly between parking and the event venue.

At the same time, the experience had to accommodate families and younger visitors through dedicated interactive areas, all while remaining aligned with health and safety requirements, the approved design intent and the available budget.

    The Solution

Evolution Scenic developed the venue around a custom curved stage measuring 3000mm x 15000mm.

Two scenic backdrops were incorporated into the stage environment, with an LED screen positioned as the central visual feature. Ambient lighting was integrated to strengthen the atmosphere and support the wider presentation programme.

Custom walling was fabricated for the temporary venue using prefabricated plastic slotted details at the top and bottom, with vinyl graphics applied through the central sections. The same treatment was coordinated across the interior and exterior of the tent to create a consistent overall finish.

To improve guest access, a golf cart service was provided between the parking area and the event venue.

A dedicated children’s area was also created, incorporating a live water pool and a Marlin Spike knot-tying station. These features introduced an interactive maritime element that connected the family experience with the wider sailing theme.

The full scenic package was delivered in accordance with health and safety requirements while remaining aligned with the proposed design and budget.

Working within a 14-day delivery programme, Evolution developed the overall style and ambiance of the event and coordinated the delivery of scenic environments, breakout spaces, cultural programming, VIP hospitality and press-conference infrastructure. The result was a cohesive event setting that balanced operational precision with cultural references to the UAE.

    The Challenge

The Pre-COP28 Conference required a polished and highly coordinated environment suitable for government officials, experts and senior stakeholders participating in international climate discussions.

The programme included formal conference activity, breakout meetings, an opening ceremony, media requirements and VIP hospitality, meaning several event functions needed to operate seamlessly within one overall environment.

The 14-day production window added significant pressure. Concept development, scenic design, custom fabrication, furniture, AV infrastructure, cultural content and hospitality elements all needed to be resolved and delivered within a compressed schedule.

The event also required cultural authenticity, with the overall experience needing to reflect the UAE through design, performance and guest-facing details without distracting from the formal nature of the conference.

    The Solution

Evolution conceptualised the overall style and ambiance of the Pre-COP28 Conference, developing a visual and experiential direction that connected the different event areas.

Custom-built tents and furniture were designed and produced for breakout meeting rooms, creating dedicated spaces for smaller discussions while maintaining consistency with the wider event environment.

For the opening ceremony, Evolution delivered turnkey production incorporating cultural elements and performances by local artists, creating a strong opening moment aligned with the significance of the event.

VIP welcome baskets were also produced using locally sourced products, adding a hospitality layer that reflected the UAE’s heritage and local identity.

A dedicated press-conference room was supported by a comprehensive AV system designed to facilitate presentations, media communication and formal announcements.

The result was a refined and approachable hospitality space that balanced strong visual identity with the warmth and accessibility expected from a tourism-led visitor experience.

    The Challenge

The hospitality tent needed to function as both a branded destination and a practical information hub within the wider Dubai 7s environment.

Visitors needed clear places to engage with hostesses, access tourism information and explore interactive content, while the overall space still had to feel premium, welcoming and visually cohesive.

Launched in late November 2023, the Climate Hub welcomed an international audience and included the attendance of His Majesty King Charles III. Evolution’s role included creative design, scenic elements, furniture, backdrops, signage, decorative features and branded collateral, helping transform the venue into a cohesive environment suited to the profile and purpose of the programme.

    The Challenge

The environment had to support discussions, meetings and stakeholder engagement while maintaining a professional appearance appropriate to a COP28-affiliated initiative and a high-profile audience.

In addition to the physical venue environment, collateral and branding materials had to work consistently across multiple guest touchpoints.

To reinforce the campaign identity, glass panels were etched with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum logo, while illuminated signage added further branded visibility across the installation.
