Evolution Scenic was entrusted with fabricating and installing a series of artistic lighting structures for the Dubai Light Art Festival, held at Expo City Dubai. Commissioned by AGB Events, the project required precision engineering, high-quality scenic fabrication, and structural expertise to bring the artists’ creative visions to life.
Custom Fabrication of Artistic Lighting Installations Minaret 2.0 by Abdullah Al-Mullah Fabricated a custom metal structure weighing 1,000kg, featuring geometric-shaped acrylic frames with reflective vinyl. Designed and installed a 2-ton metal base frame with counterweights for stability. Integrated internal RGBW lighting for dynamic visual effects, reflecting the five daily prayer times through color transitions. Musk Spectre Sculpture by Dr. Najat Makki Produced seven custom metal structures interconnected with metal base plates, covering a 180sqm area. Wrapped the figures in stretch tulle fabric and integrated RGBW lighting to create shadow-based visuals. Installed 3 tons of sand pits, representing the transition from water to sand and reflecting Dubai’s environmental transformation. Afterlife by Maitha Hamdan Fabricated a cylindrical metal structure measuring 2.4m in diameter and 6m in height. Installed a custom LED light curtain around the entire structure, creating a 360-degree illuminated effect. Overcoming Complex Challenges Logistics & Transportation: The geometric acrylic elevations of the Minaret 2.0 structure posed significant transportation challenges. At 2.1m (W) x 2.1m (D) x 10m (H), careful logistical planning was required to ensure its safe delivery and installation. Structural Integrity & Stability: Heavy counterweights and secure base structures were engineered to meet safety standards and withstand outdoor conditions. Seamless On-Site Execution: A tightly coordinated installation schedule ensured that all elements were safely and efficiently positioned on-site within the festival’s timeline. A Striking Fusion of Art, Light, and Scenic Craftsmanship The Dubai Light Art Festival installations were a testament to Evolution Scenic’s ability to merge artistic creativity with precise scenic engineering. By delivering large-scale, visually captivating installations with integrated lighting and structural stability, Evolution Scenic helped transform Expo City Dubai into a mesmerizing display of illuminated art. |
